ROLE: Graphic Designer
LOCATION: Santiago de Chile
DATE: 2015
‘Cartografía de la movilización estudiantil’ (CME: Cartography of educational protests) is an archival project that gathers on a map all the events happened during Chile’s upper education protests in 2011 in Santiago.
The design of their visual identity is based on the documenting process that translates the analogic real-life events into a digital sets of data. The loss and dissonance between the factual and experienced is foregrounded by scratched textures, glitches and scanned hand drawn graphics.
CME constitutes a proxy between the student community and the academic institutions. For this reason, their identity had to be embedded in a critically positioned visual language, whilst being ready to present a trustworthy voice towards the institutions.
